Our first meeting is called the Vision Meeting. We’ll talk about your financial issues, values, expectations, and concerns. We’ll begin to clarify and quantify your goals because these will drive the decisions you’ll make. We’ll review your documents and define the scope of work. There is a $150 non-refundable fee for the Vision Meeting. This fee applies to your deposit should you continue with the process.
The remaining meetings are very collaborative in nature with a mix of education, discussion, and strategy. My goal is to lay out your issues and possibilities to enable you to make informed decisions. Following each meeting, I’ll send you a detailed list of the Action Items that emerged from our meeting. Most likely, you’ll need to complete some of these before our next meeting.
The duration and number of planning meetings vary to match each person’s needs. Typically we’ll have 3-5 meetings and it’s ideal to maintain a consistent momentum of meeting every 3-4 weeks.
As part of our Financial Planning Engagement, I provide implementation assistance upon your request. It’s in everyone’s best interest for you to implement on a timely basis.
Cash Flow Planning
Cash flow planning is offered on an as-needed, hourly basis. Typically, our first consultation is 2 hours, and I recommend you plan on at least 1-2 additional hours to address follow-up questions and optimize your cash flow system.
Ongoing Clients…
While financial planning does produce a plan for today, it’s not a single transaction that sets your direction for life. It’s a living process that responds to you. As your life evolves, your planning continues. I provide 3 services for ongoing clients: Twelve Month Financial Planning Retainer, Annual Review, and Hourly Consultations.
Long-distance Clients…
Lazarus Financial Planning is based in Durham, with a satellite office in Southport, NC. I regularly work with people who live elsewhere in North Carolina and in other states. All you need is a simultaneous phone and internet connection.
Workshops…
Workshops are educational in nature and do not offer advice specific to a person’s unique financial situation. The cost will vary depending on the nature of the workshop. If you have a group of people who want general financial guidelines about a particular topic, please contact me. Possible workshops include:
• Cash Flow Planning
• Financial Planning 101 for Retirement Plan Participants
• Socially Responsible Investing
• Financial Literacy for the College Bound
