New Clients…
Introductory Phone Consultation
This gives us a chance to see if we’re a good match for one another. There is no charge for this consultation.

Vision Meeting
We’ll talk about your financial issues, values, expectations, and concerns. We’ll begin to clarify and quantify your goals –

because these will drive the decisions you’ll make. Through our discussion, we’ll define the scope of work and the duration for this financial planning engagement.

Financial Planning Engagement
These meetings are very collaborative in nature – with a mix of education, discussion, and strategy. My goal is to lay out your issues and possibilities to enable you to make informed decisions. The issues we’ll examine typically fall within the following core areas: life goals, cash flow & debt management, tax, risk management (insurance), education, retirement, estate, and investments.

Following each meeting, I’ll send you a detailed list of the Action Items that emerged from our meeting. Most likely, you’ll need to complete some or all of these before our next meeting.

The duration and number of planning meetings vary to match each person’s needs. The bottom line is that we will meet until we’ve addressed all of your financial issues. Most engagements involve between 3-4 meetings. Though it’s ideal to maintain a consistent momentum by meeting every 2-3 weeks, sometimes the planning engagement extends beyond 2-3 months.

As part of our Financial Planning Engagement, I provide implementation assistance upon your request. It’s in everyone’s best interest for you to implement on a timely basis.

Returning Clients…
While financial planning does produce a plan for today, it’s not a single transaction that sets your direction for life. It’s a living process that responds to you. As your life evolves, your planning continues.

Whether it’s time for a financial check-up or you have a new issue to discuss, we’ll pick up where we left off. In most cases, the fee will continue to be a flat fee, but in some cases, it will be an hourly consultation rate.

Long-distance Clients…
Lazarus Financial Planning is based in Durham, with a satellite office in Southport, NC. I regularly work with people who live elsewhere in North Carolina and in other states. All you need is a simultaneous phone and internet connection.
